OnStage Teacher
We’re looking for someone with theatre knowledge and acting experience, who enjoys working with elementary school kids. This person will teach the Onstage Theatre Arts Program, an organic process of brainstorming with students, developing their ideas into an age- appropriate script, and collaborating with offstage teacher from script to final production.
Job involves developing very basic lesson plans for teaching performance skills. Please be organized, punctual and flexible, user-friendly with parents and school staff. Must be willing to have fun as well! Nine-week program, 1-3 days/week. We can work with your class schedule. $25 hour/$20 for prep time
(You’ll need to get a TB test and be fingerprinted through the Sacramento Unified School District.)
OffStage Teacher
OnStage Theatre Arts seeks artistic, crafty teachers to help elementary school students create sets, costumes, props and sound for original kids’ plays. Candidates will plan student-centered construction activities, then collaborate with OnStage’s teaching artist to turn plans into reality! We’re looking for folks to guide kids through making scenery from PVC, canvas and cardboard, while teaching about the physical elements of a theatre production in a fun, creative way. Teachers will guide kids in cleanup after art sessions. Please be prompt, flexible, and have a car, for transporting materials from our storage facility. 1-3 days/week. $25/hour for class time, $20/hour for prep time.
